Richard Thayer

Richard is founder and director of Thayer Associates Ltd., Chairman and Founder of M3 Job Club (a voluntary and unfunded initiative to support those out of work, back to work) and has a wealth of
in-depth business experience having worked with many leading multinational companies with over twelve year’s in-depth experience in IT Service Sector. He focuses on achieving your business goals and objectives, understanding your buy, build or partner options with a core focus on implementation of effective partnerships, having worked with major, high profile companies such as BBC, Boots, Sopra Group and TIBCO Software.

For the last seven years, Richard worked at Siemens taking on a number of senior positions, in particular responsible for all technical partnerships for the UK business. Prior to this, Richard worked in the Telecoms sector generating high value sales and developed a focus for the UK business targeting major IT Service companies.

In 1997, Richard took a lead role in a dedicated team focussing on strategic accounts to develop new business and implement solutions to generate longer-term business relationships with companies such as Barclays, Boots and CBI, even then, setting up a co-opetitive partner relationship to deliver client projects. Since then has been actively involved in creating and developing various collaborative relationships.

John Parker Associate

John is an independent practitioner with over 45 years experience in IT, Sales & Marketing, and promoting best practice strategic alliances & partnering.

From 1966 to 1974 he worked variously for Crompton Parkinson, Wilkinson Sword and Henlys in internal consultancy, project management and management services roles. In 1974 John joined ICL as a business consultant supporting public sector sales teams and in 1976 transferred to the Manufacturing and Automotive team selling to engineering and manufacturing businesses in the UK. 1n 1980 he took responsibility for retraining the manufacturing industry sales force and contributed to the new sales staff training school. In 1982 John transferred to the Retail Industry team and focused on the brewing and hospitality industry.

In 1990 John joined the ICL Senior Executive Programme which ran strategy workshops for the boards of major clients and took responsibility for the Government and Major Companies clients.

In 1992 he set up his own business and joined with other companies to pursue independent consultancy & training opportunities.

John is President of ASAP UK (Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals), a member of the ASAP Professional Development and Certification Committee and Company Secretary of a family business – Grove Park Deli Ltd in Chiswick.

He joined Thayer Associates in February 2011 and is also an associate member of the Phoenix Consulting Group (based in California) and is now UK Practice Lead delivering training and consultancy associated with strategic alliances and other collaborative business relationships. Clients include:
